About us

Office in Melbourne + Brisbane and servicing all of Australia.
To contribute to a better world
through intelligent control of energy.
iAutomation, founded in 2005, makes great buildings better by providing automated, sensor-enabled solutions for customised lighting control, security, ultra-efficient heating and ventilation services, as well as the latest hospitality applications based on unique customer profiles. iAutomation’s CONTROL caters to the professional needs of engineering and design consultants, architects, facilities managers, developers, and operations managers.

With an emphasis on comprehensive service delivery, iAutomation has forged a reputation as Australia’s leading provider of high-quality sensor and control products and systems for use in hospitals, hotels, universities, schools, resorts, office buildings, and other applications requiring refined levels of zoned lighting, climate management, security, and individualized customer care. Our high-profile clients include: Royal Childrens Hospital, Victoria; University of Queensland (St Lucia Campus); Icehouse Melbourne, Victoria; Monash University, Victoria; and Australian Broadcasting Services (ABC) Studios, Queensland.
iAutomation is proud to supply the world’s premier sensor products to the Australian market, including world-famous BEG products from Germany. All products in iAutomation’s product inventory are mutually compatible according to universal KNX protocols.

World-class products, however, are just the beginning of iAutomation’s services. Our in-house team of nearly two dozen highly qualified technical and engineering experts appraises every project on a case-by-case basis, assessing each client’s precise needs in order to determine correct product specification, optimal sensor placement and configuration, as well as appropriate and user-friendly control functionality.

iAutomation understands that aftersales service is just as important as the performance of systems at handover. A range of monthly and quarterly service contracts is now available to property managers to ensure systems remain in peak condition, and to ensure that new and old personnel are familiar with full operating procedures and capabilities.
To contribute to a better world
through smarter management of energy.
Welcome to the world of complete end-to-end solutions in Energy System design, configuration, delivery and management. iAutomation established its Energy division in 2013 in recognition of a clear market need for detailed energy metering, analysis and management in commercial facilities.

This is an exciting time to be involved in energy: effective and efficient energy systems are the ‘starting point’ of any high-value, high-performance asset – iAutomation specialises in new energy storage (battery) technologies, strategised energy applications, optimised energy efficiency when linked to iAutomation Controls sensor-based systems, as well as tailored analytical tools to further refine energy savings.

High-quality energy metering and assessment systems are vital tools for identifying the energy usage patterns of a structure (by whole building, zone, level or tenancy).
Data relating to energy consumption and behaviour allows property managers to pinpoint (and then remediate) poor-performing elements of a building such as inefficient heating and ventilation units or unwanted air infiltration.

In addition, accurate energy consumption data helps property managers satisfy a range of mandatory regulations such as the Australian Government’s Commercial Building Disclosure scheme, which requires owners of commercial office space (above 1,000m2) to disclose energy performance information whenever a property is sold or leased.

Demonstrably energy-efficient buildings are higher-value buildings due to: higher-quality tenants (including Federal Government tenants, whose office leases are subject to a National Green Leasing Policy); as well as the associated potential for elevated capital value based on premium tenancies.
Energy management is the doorway to improved asset performance and value.
Our Culture
iAutomation’s culture is based on integrity, diversity, inclusion and innovation.

Integrity is a fundamental part of our culture. We have a statement regrades integrity – “do as you say and say as you do”. Specifically, if we say we are going to do something, then do it. If we have done something, then say we did it. This is what we instil in our staff regards our internal and external relationships. It is this statement we refer to when making complex decisions – does the decision meet our integrity statement. If not, then it is the wrong decision.

Diversity gives us strength and promotes innovation by considering different points of view and perspectives. This diversity of different perspectives enhances our ability to innovate. Innovation enables us to investigate different solutions to problems and for us to provide better solutions for our customers. For us to embrace diversity, we must have a culture of tolerance and consideration. We must respect different ideas and views and allow them to be expressed and considered. Across our 24 staff we have up to 12 different ethnic backgrounds and in a male dominated construction industry, we employ 40% female and 60% male with a goal of 50:50.

To promote the above, we have an open office policy which encourages all staff to sit at desks in an open arrangement to encourage interaction. We try and reduce any barriers that reduce interactions amongst staff, from junior to senior executive staff. We place importance on interaction by having events such as free Friday lunches sponsored by the company in the staff training rooms. Staff can use these activities to talk about non-business issues or to participate in training sessions on interesting issues that covering new technology in energy systems or applications. We encourage both a dog friendly environment where staff can bring their dogs to work, and a family friendly environment where staff can bring their children to work if homecare becomes challenging.

We care for our staff by offering opportunities to further development their skills and qualifications. The company sponsors MBA’s, CPA’s and Law post-grad studies plus supports further technical qualifications as required and requested. In addition, we provide access to wellbeing programs for staff facing difficulties at work or in their private lives. Finally, we are very sensitive to any bulling of staff both internally, but most importantly externally. It is not acceptable nor tolerated.
